Top Ten Tuesday - Top Books Still On My TBR After Two Years

This is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. They feature a different top ten list every week. This week's topic is books that have been on my TBR since before I started blogging. I started blogging almost two years and I can't believe I still haven't read these yet. I blame blogging and all those pesky ARCs. I will get to these books . . . eventually.

I noticed that most of the books on this list are adult fiction. Before I started blogging, I read a lot more adult fiction.
1. Angel Falls by Kristin Hannah

2. The Robber Bride by Margaret Atwood

3. The Good Father by Diane Chamberlain

4. The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough

5. The Book of Unknown Americans bCristina Henriquez

6. Silver Bay by Jojo Moyes

7. The Orphan Master's Son by Adam Johnson

8. The F-It List by Julie Halpern

9. The Women's Room by Marilyn French

10. Forget Me by K.A. Harrington

What are some books that are still on your TBR? Are there any on my list that you recommend I read immediately?

  1. I haven't read many of the books on this list, but I did enjoy The F-It List. It wasn't stand out for me, but an interesting read.

    1. Thanks Chrissi! I think that's mainly why I haven't read it yet, people haven't exactly raved about it so I wasn't sure about it.

  2. AH I have some of these I have wanted to read too - Silver Bay, The Book of Unknown Americans and The Good Father. I also want to read more Kristin Hannah in general. And yes pesky ARCs have gotten in my way too!!

    1. Grace, Kristin Hannah is an awesome author. I have read several of her books and I am trying to work my way through her collection. But there are just so many!

  3. OMG. The Thornbirds. So huge. I've attempted to read it many moons ago, but I decided to watch the movie instead. Lol.

    1. Haha Joy, I don't blame you. I haven't seen the movie either. But man the book is intimidating for sure.

  4. Wow! You're the second one to have Thorn Birds on their list. It was published so long ago now & Australian literature has travelled so far since then, it feels like a whole world & lifetime ago.
Although I always gets a weird time warp feeling when Bryan Brown or Rachel Ward come into my bookshop (they live in my suburb!)

    1. Brona, judging by these comments, it seems like Thorn Birds is on a lot of people's lists! I feel like it is such a classic that I really should read it. Who knows if I will ever actually read it though?

  5. I really want to read The Book Of Unknown Americans! It's the only one I've heard of, but I'm really intrigued by The Orphan Master's Son and The F-It List, just based off the cover/title.

You can check out my TTT here if you want!

    1. Nicole, that one is probably the one on this list that I would like to read the most!

  6. I've read The Thorn Birds, The Robber Bride, Silver Bay, and The Women's Room. I'd say start with the Thorn Birds! Silver Bay is okay, but compared to more recent Jojo Moyes books, it's kind of lightweight. The Women's Room is a good example of earlier feminist fiction, but I have no idea how it would hold up today. Interesting mix of books!

    1. Lisa, thanks so much for the tip! I have heard such great things and it is a total classic. I need to read that one soon. I have read most Jojo Moyes books, but for some reason this is the only one I haven't read and I've been putting it off for some reason.

  7. I have lots of Atwood titles on my TBR right now! I love her writing, but her books are usually so large that I always put them off! I'm about to start Alias Grace though! Good luck with your TBR!

    1. Mallory, I absolutely love Atwood and I completely understand what you mean! Her books can be a bit intimidating. I always love them when I read them, but the problem is getting that motivation. I read Alias Grace last year and I loved it. I am sure you will too!

    1. Giovanna, thanks. I have heard that The F It List is just okay and I think that's the main reason I haven't read it yet.

    1. Marce, I love Kristin Hannah and I am also trying to make it through her very extensive catalog of books. There are just so many!

  11. I've read Angel Falls but when I just went to GoodReads to read the synopsis I remember absolutely nothing about it. Then again, it's been about 6 six since I read it, so... The Thorn Birds is one that I've meant to read for years. My mom read it and loved it and watched the mini-series many years ago. It's always interested me (I love big family sagas) but I've just never got around to it.

    Here's my TTT POST.

    1. Tanya, if it has been six years since you've read it, I can understand why it's hard to remember it. There are books that I read just one year ago that I can't remember hardly anything about.

    1. Greg, Jojo Moyes is always good so I have a feeling Silver Bay will be excellent. :)

  14. I feel like Forget Me is the only one I have heard of! I was thinking about doing this one, after the event is done, just to see if any of the books on my TBR have outlasted blogging. There had been a lot, but I did a Goodreads clean out a little while ago, and most of them got the ax 😂

    1. Shannon, ahh I am so proud of you for doing a clean out. I need to do that! There are books on my TBR list that I just no I will NEVER read!

  16. Oh I only recognise The F-it List! Which I want to read! But wasn't sure if I should buy it in case my family saw me reading it and started to ask questions hHAHAHHA ahem. 😂 Before I started blogging I NEVER read a single adult book ever! But now I actually am tempted to pick up a lot more of them. :')

    1. Cait, I actually read MORE adult books prior to blogging and now I read mainly YA. Weird, right? That's probably why so many adult books are still on my TBR.

  17. I have read NONE of these, or heard of ANY of them. So maybe it's a good thing you haven't read them yet? Just kidding!!

  18. I absolutely LOVED The Orphan Master's Son - it was so interesting and really unique. I definitely recommend moving that one up your list!

I've had The Thorn Birds on my TBR for ages as well.....one of these days.
